Chobham Beavers enjoyed a fantastic day at the Chobham Agricultural and Horticultural Show on 19 September, celebrating the show’s special 175th anniversary.
The popular village event had something for everyone, with a fun dog show, Morris dancing, food and drink, a tombola and raffle, as well as the many traditional competitions celebrating growing, flowers, baking, handicrafts and art.
Following an arts and crafts evening, our Beavers entered a fantastic range of artwork into the children’s categories, with entries in drawing, painting and collage. Their creativity was rewarded with a number of Highly Commended awards.
The Beavers’ greatest success however came in the handicraft category, where their homemade animal crafts took first, second and third place – a fantastic clean sweep!
It wasn’t just the Beavers who enjoyed success at the show. Many of our Cubs, Scouts and Beavers entered the show independently, with entries including home baking, photography, flower arranging and some very obedient dogs in the dog show.
It was a brilliant day out and a wonderful opportunity for our young people to showcase their creativity, skills and hard work alongside the wider Chobham community.
Well done to all our Chobham Scouts, Cubs and Beavers – and congratulations to everyone who took part!
